If these walls could talk...

Updated: Jul 16

We have all heard the saying "if these walls could talk..." but have not associated the saying with a home inspection. At Zero45 Consulting we can listen to what your walls are saying.

Using the latest tech gadgets and training, we are able to hear things never before heard without destructive testing. I recently purchased an endoscope. This little snake camera allows me to look into spaces with a hole less than a 1/4". I recently inspected an old home as was able to remove an electrical light switch cover and drill a tiny hole to insert the scope. The hole was hardly noticeable and was covered under the switch cover. The images opened a world only previously seen by removing drywall. I was able to take photos of the type of insulation and the depth of the insulation. I was able to provide an accurate r-value of the insulation very cool photos in the inspection report.

I have used the scope to look into walls and determine that the electrical wiring was dated knob and tube (K&T) style. I have used the scope to look into heat ducts and was able to recommend a cleaning where needed. The scope can be used in water. Looking into a p-trap has never been easier. I have been able to diagnose sewer odors. By looking into the floor drain I could see it had evaporated dry and was allowing odors into the house.

The applications are only as limited as your imagination - but an imagination is not needed. The image quality and lighting on the end of the scope make videos or photographs very interesting and easy to understand.
